RE: Sunchaser Awning Tube installation

This is how this new one was shipped. One side with the nail out and the other end with the nail that won't come out easily. I hate to break a new roller but I may just try cutting the head of the nail off.

Sunchaser Awning Tube installation

I installed a Sunchaser Awning over the weekend, only the tube and fabric. The tube has a temporary finish nail in a hole at each end of the aluminum tube. The nail slides out on the operational end but, I can't seem to get the other nail on the opposite end out. Does it come out or am I missing something besides the instructions that didn't come with the awning and roller tube. This one nail is keeping the awning from rolling up. Any Ideas on this one nail.
Thanks

RE: RV Camp Ground prices

I'm from KY and presently full-timing in KY about 30 minutes from Louisville. $350.00/month, includes 30 amp electricity, no waste hook-ups, and on a lake. A real nice place. PM me and I'll give you the location if your interested someday.

RE: Best place to get portable RV dish setup?

I bought the 301 receiver and Dish 500 online and picked up a tripod at Radio Shack. I made a PVC stand for the dish but I didn't like it as much as the tripod. Total cost less than $150.00. You can get 100' of coax at Home Depot or Lowes.

RE: Direct TV or Dish Network

Dish 500, a tripod and 100' feet of coax works for me.

Check the battery if it has a backup for power outage or wipe down the inside may help.

RE: Blue tank use for black water??

That's all I use mine for. When it's about full I open The gray tank to rinse out the hose while it's still in the blue tank.

Roll the dice and buy. This is a stock market fire sale for companies with market caps worth billions. My Ameritrade account is working overtime.

Good, I'll see if he'll take 29.5K for it because he looks hungry and I know what they're going for.

RE: 25% off used fiver

turninghawk, Lets get to the point. Have you purchased a used fiver? How old was it? How much did you knock off the asking price? Do you feel like you got a good deal. You keep dancing around the question like my stockbroker is today.

RE: 25% off used fiver

turninghawk, They are real serious and have called twice to see if I would like to make a cash offer. I don't give a rats a** about homework I'm looking for real life used fiver buyers who happen to know by doing. 25% is a good starting point with a new unit. The question I'm posing is it a good starting number for a used unit?

RE: 25% off used fiver

turninghawk, NADA numbers and MSRP don't mean much,if anything, when buying a RV. I'm looking for people with experience in buying a used upscale fiver in this economy. Thanks for your opinion though.

25% off used fiver

I full-time in a 2007 26' Aluma-Lite TT and it's was plenty big when it was used for a couple weeks at a time for just vacations. Now I'm looking at a used 2007 Hitchhiker 339 RSB. The dealer has a 45k price on it and I'm thinking about an offer of around 34k. Any opinions on if that's a good starting number or should I try 30k.
Thanks

RE: Fresh Out of College & into a Class A??

I'm an Architect and work out of my TT that's parked on the same 25 acres that my house is on. I use it all year long. First, An RV is not an investment if your talking about money. Someday it will be worth nothing. I like a TT because I only have one engine and drive train to maintain. I dump my tanks with a tote every couple weeks in the septic tank clean-out at the house and that works well. I supplement my gas furnace with electric when it gets below 20F. I fill up my water tanks as needed with a hose by the barn. I also have a 30 amp service to the TT from the barn. It all works out well and after you do it you'll wonder why you worried about it so much before taking the plunge. Being a Mechanical Engineer I'm sure you do fine. It's going to cost money but, less than renting an apartment. Hope this helped a little.
What's really great is that I can hitch up and work from any camp site as long as I have cell service with internet.

RE: To Upgrade or not to Upgrade?

That's a lot of money to have in a TV just for towing. But on the other hand your wet weight is probably maxing out the F-150. I'd just live with it because I don't think you'll fry the engine in the F-150. But, if you have the money a new truck isn't an issue. I tow at 4500 to 5000 rpm on 7% grades a lot. Just get your rpm's up before attacking the incline.
